Three cycles and the towels are still damp — that's a heat problem, an airflow problem, or both. Sometimes it's a burned element. Sometimes a thermal fuse tripped because the vent is packed. Our techs sort out which before replacing anything. Cambridge two-families often run long duct paths up through the walls, which makes dryers work harder than they should. If the drum spins but nothing gets hot, or it won't start at all, we can help. Reach us or use the quote form and mention gas or electric so we come loaded right.

From Cambridge we also cover Somerville, Boston, Medford and Brookline, plus ZIPs 01801, 01803 and 01880.
Almost always airflow. Lint collects in the duct, the hood flap sticks, or a crushed flex hose behind the machine strangles exhaust. Heat builds, the dryer cycles off early, and clothes stay damp. We check the whole run, not just the screen.
Treat it that way. Stop the dryer, unplug it or shut the gas valve, and don't run it again. Scorched lint near the element or a failing motor both smell like that. Call us and we'll talk through what you're smelling.
Yes. Gas units add igniters, flame sensors and gas valve coils to the list of parts that fail. Electric units come down to elements, fuses and thermostats. We diagnose both, and we handle stacked and side-by-side setups.
Often, yes. Belts, rollers, fuses and elements are ordinary wear parts on a cabinet that's otherwise sound. If the drum is cracked or the bulkhead is rusted through, we say so plainly and you decide.
Call us and we'll give you the next open window, often same week. Morning and afternoon slots both work. If you're in a walk-up or a building with permit parking, say so when you book so we plan the arrival right.
Call us or fill out the form. Describe what you hear, smell or see. Brand and rough age help. We ask a few questions so the tech arrives with likely parts on the truck.
Pick a window that works. Our tech tests the machine, checks power, water and drainage, then explains what failed in plain words. No jargon, no guessing out loud at your kitchen table.
Most jobs finish the same visit. If a part must be ordered, we tell you what and why. If the unit isn't worth fixing, we say that too, and you decide.
Ask these of anyone you let into your home — us included. Call and we'll answer all five before you book anything.
Describe the fault, approve the written quote, get it fixed. Starting takes about a minute.
